This is a place for poems, essays, and stories written from a practice of paying attention.
I write about ordinary moments that pass quietly and go unnoticed unless I slow down. Much of my work grows from the same way of being that shaped my poetry collection, Tiny Happy Things: listening to the voices of what’s small, fleeting, and alive.
Some pieces come from the woods behind my house. Others come from growing up in the Deep South, from faith that has shifted over time, from motherhood, from love and loss, and from the long work of trusting myself. I’m interested in what feels true when nothing is being performed and nothing is being rushed.
This Substack is not a brand or a platform. It’s a place to gather fragments —memories, moments, questions — and set them down honestly to see what grows.
You’re welcome to move slowly here, take what’s yours, and leave the rest.
I’m glad you’re here.
